Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding can be a wonderful, fulfilling experience and will give your baby the best start possible in life. Some women find it a challenge initially while some women find it easy. Every women should be fully supported in their decision to breastfeed and given assistance where needed.

No woman should be made to feel that she has made the wrong decision whatever she chooses, or that is a poor mother because of the choices she makes.

About 3 days after you have had your baby and as your milk is coming in you may begin to experience the baby blues. With hormones in upheaval and a baby that needs feeding, some women can find the whole experience overwhelming, while some women will just run with it. It is important to remember if a mother is stressed and skips her opportunities to rest or doesn't eat well her milk flow can be compromised.

Learning techniques to relax and meditate during feeding can increase milk flow and make feeding easier.

A woman should trust her instinct, intuitively her baby will know how to feed and the mother how to feed her baby. Remember - every woman is different and should be supported in their choices around feeding her baby.

It is important to keep yourself healthy – to eat well and drink lots of water, resting when possible so that you can keep your energy levels up.

How can hypnosis help you with breastfeeding
